Welcome to the learning lab! If you're not sure about something on MoonSponge, you can find it out here. Just click on the question to read the answer. There's beginners guide to MoonSponge and also a beginners guide to html for those of you who want to learn some HTML!
MoonSponge is a free service designed by Lee Wallis with the help of his little brother Ryan. The development of the website was done with the help of Lee's good friend Bhavin Doshi. MoonSponge will allow kids of any age to create their own homepage on the web instantly, without any knowledge of HTML. The idea came from a great website called MatMice which offered a similar service but are unfortunately have now closed. There seems to be no other website which is aimed purely at kids to create their own homepage, so Lee and Ryan decided to do something about it... MoonSponge!
Easy! Just go to the join now page and sign up for free. Then go to the 'Edit my Page' section and follow the simple instructions to start adding text and pictures to your homepage. Once you've finished click the 'Publish Page' button and whallaa! You have your very own homepage live on the internet! All you need to do now is get your friends and family to visit your page, see the 'How can I get more people to look at my homepage?' section for ideas!
MoonPoints (MP) are what you earn on your account by doing different things on MoonSponge. The people with the highest amount of MP are displayed on the homepage for everyone to see! We have a full section dedicated to MoonPoints so you can learn more about what you can do to earn them. Go to the 'What are MoonPoints page'.
HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. HTML consists of bits of code typed into a text-file by the website author - these are called tags. The text is then saved as a html file, and viewed through a browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari or Google Chrome. Each browser reads the html file and translates the text into words and pictures!
Still confused? Don't worry! You don't need to be concerned too much about what HTML is, but more concerned about what HTML can do!
We've created a beginners guide to html so you can learn cool tricks which will give your text a different colour, size or even make it...

When you're on someone else's homepage, you can write in their guestbook or view their guestbook comments. All you have to do is scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the 'sign or view my guestbook' link. Make sure you leave nice comments or they wont want to visit your homepage in return. Please read the MoonSponge Guidelines before leaving comments in peoples guestbook's.
If you want to remove a comment from your own guestbook, just log into your account and go to the 'Homepage Extras' section, then click on 'Guestbook'. You can select all the comments you would like to remove and get rid of them forever! Be careful though because you can't get them back once you have removed them.
